Message from the specialty head

In the World Heritage Studies, we welcome students who are motivated to enter business that contributes to the international society through preservation of cultural and natural heritage.  World Heritage conservation is not limited to certain specialists. Many participate in a variety of conservation activities, from restoration of monuments and sites, protection of wild animals, to educational activities, tourism planning, and development planning.

At the World Heritage Studies, students and professors hold numerous discussions, identifying existing problems from a broad perspective, aiming to build capacity that can solve complex issues with high standards of communications kills based on specialized knowledge. With this purpose, many of the courses are proactively arranged to take place in actual heritage sites. Many professors are active in  national and international scenes, and through them the educational content accumulates forefront information from conferences such as the World Heritage Committee or the Assembly of States Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Those who enroll in the World Heritage Studies may be surprised to discover the wide variety of activities done for the conservation of cultural and natural heritage. Heritage conservation is a new academic field, which is very practical in the sense that readiness is required for issues that arise at actual sites. We welcome those who are eager to take part in such job.
